  • Sunday: Lots of events!

sunday began with a very french breakfast in a cozy and warm place I found nearby and it was delicious. here i am wearing a ring by Immago Jewels and the lion was a birthday gift from my husband and best friend. then it was off to visit a gallery and another event, coffee with a friend in the afternoon and, at night, a talk with Kyle Roderick (Forbes and bijouxreview) and Paul Schneider from Twistonline. first stop was at Galerie Sophie where they had an exhibit of just rings! made for moi!! Sophie was a dear and let me try all the rings I liked, it was quite the experience. I had hoped to meet some of the artists showing (Rita Martinez, Gaston Bijoux, Marianne Anselin...) but I wasn't able to be there on saturday when they were there. maybe next time! the exhibition is on until november 2nd so if you're in Paris, go to Le Marais and visit them! then I was off to Curate, another fashion event I visited to meet Enri Mars, an italian jewelry artist whose work I really love. after a quick coffee (and carrot cake) at Fika with Sandro, off we went to Goldrush for "45 Minutes of Killer Jewelry Wisdom". needless to say, it was fantastic, interesting, and most certainly a learning experience. I must admit it was quite the compliment when Paul Schneider told me he loved my page and thought I had great taste. It was also an opportunity to meet artist Marc Alary, who coincidentally is from Toulouse (but lives in NY), whose work I admire so much - he'll be featured here soon!bisous! here are some photos from this full day:

  • Saturday: Tranoï, baby!

I certainly was not expecting this majestic venue! huge and somewhat intimidating but after I found my way and the artists I was looking for, everything went smoothly. this event is much more focused on fashion but I did find many interesting jewelry artists. I had gone to meet Margaux from Okan Studio and found another artist who I follow and whose rings I find to be simply gorgeous: Kundo Paris, by danish artist Roy Krejbgerg. Here is a bit from Tranoï and more rings! bisous!

  • Goldrush Friday: Day & Night

friday i had lunch with my friend Sandro from Salut le Garçons in the heart of La Marais and afterwards it was time to see everything at Goldrush. Met Valery and Javier and a lot of the artists who were there showing their creations. I talked to several of them - people from Australia, Belgium, Lebanon, Germany, Spain, Japan, USA, and so much more. it never ceases to amaze me how talented and creative jewelry artists can be. the craftsmanship is out of this world and the beauty of it all is astounding. After trying on as many rings as possible it was time for a party (petit comité) with delicious champagne, appetizers and the most fun surprise: Valery invited tooth gem artist Anya from Chai Beauty in the UK and we all had tiny crystals placed on our teeth (it's so tiny and delicate and cute). I dont't think anyone left without one! I finally met Jonathan Wahl, who is the director of the Jewelry Center at the 92 Street Y and interviewed Valery, Marion Faisel and myself back in may to talk about the jewelry world. I cannot say how much this meant to me! Here are some photos from friday afternoon/night! a special thank you to: Clara, Ruby, Rosanna, Gina, Kiralee, Fernando, Marco and Sally! bisous! this is my tiny tooth crystal!

  • fancythisrings in Paris

the adventure began on friday, september 27, early in the morning. my rings are all in their special case and I cannot wait to meet all the wonderful people, some of whom I have been talking to online for four years! I will visit Goldrush, by Valery Demure and Javier Goggins, Melee (meeting Lauren and Rebecca), Tranoï Women to see Margaux from Okan, Galerie Sophie to see Rita Martinez and many other amazing artists, and of course, Jonathan Wahl from 92NY! I'll also meet my dearest friend Sandro Accariès: we worked together at an ad agency in São Paulo and we both moved to France about 10 years ago. He has been my knight in shining armor, helping me with my page, always taking the time to advise me and show me the way. Now we 'work' together since he invited me to write about rings in his incredible (and always sold out) magazine, Salut les Garçons. the launch party for number 5 is next week! and speaking of the magazine, in this upcoming issue I have interviewed Binliang Alexander Peng, a fantastic artist/jewelry designer and maker (who I will meet for coffee on saturday!) and the well-versed in jewelry, creator of dejoyaenjoya, Salvador Asensio. I also intend to walk a lot, take lots of photos of everything and share this incredible trip during a very special week in Paris. j'arrive, Paname! bisous!

  • Monday: almost time to say 'au revoir'

monday norning i met sandro at Goldrush as he was invited to do a photoshoot with some of the jewelry being shown. photographer Marco Bollani - chosen by Valery to handle all photos for the event and participants - had a session with Sandro, Fernando and Javier. You can see it all on Goldrush's Instagram page (spoiler, they look amazing and the jewels... chef's kiss !) afterwards I had lunch at the loveliest restaurant with jewelry artist Binliang Alexander Peng (who I also interviewed for Sandro's magazine, Salut les Garçons) and it was wonderful. we talked jewelry, rings, inspirations, references, techniques, food, travel and so much more. then it was time to go back home to Toulouse, a very short flight and by the end of the day I was already cuddling my cats! it's fantastic to travel but it's also delightful to come back to one's own place. bisous!

  • the 5K rings GIVEAWAY!

**UPDATE! we have a winner! details are in the post but I can tell you it was a lucky girl! it was such a success! thank you to everyone who participated!!** it is such a pleasure to partner up with Nine from @goodafternine whose whimsical, handmade rings are captivating and magical. I really wanted to do something special to celebrate this particular milestone since it feels like quite a feat having shared 5,000 rings over the past four years. this is the result of a lot of passionate research, something I do every single day and I enjoy every moment. of course this research goes beyond just looking for beautiful rings - i learn about the artists, look closely at their work and also how they evolve over the years. it's fascinating to see how some change, some develop their own unique design characteristics (when you see a piece and immediately know who it's by) and some are always searching to do something new, different, using all sorts of materials, colors, techniques. this process is intriguing to me and I wish I could put my finger on what really sets some of these artists aside - of course this is all done using my own taste and intuition, but over time I have come to understand that while it's impossible to please everyone (i don't even try) I have been able to bring together what one can call a 'virtual gallery'and this is exactly what i envisioned way back in 2020 when the page was launched. I hope you'll try your luck and participate in this special giveaway!! bonne chance :), bisous!
